The award recognises The Reef Remembers for bringing scientific research into public conversation through sculpture. The work transforms ideas of coral morphology, symbiosis and reef resilience into a physical, biodegradable form activated by augmented reality.

Entries were judged for creativity, originality, clarity of research communication and visual impact across participating Australian Research Council Centres of Excellence.
